The Tibet Story

This is based on something I posted on my own blog a couple of months ago, I don’t know if anyone had heard of it but over the last 6 months abit more information has met the public eye due to the self immolation’s that happened over last year and are still happening this year, thank you for reading this in advance.

Tibet was a peaceful country, it lived in harmony with the land and the wildlife around it. It’s main population followed buddhism and there were many tibetan buddhist monks and lay followers throughout the country. Around 50 years ago for communist/political reasons China wished to unite themselves with Tibet. They offered to help there economy by building housing, shops, factorys, anything to create more money and power.

This is however not how Tibet worked, Tibetans enjoyed the simple things in life as this is what the buddha taught them. The Dalai Lama as political leader of Tibet at the time tried to tell China that he did not wish for these things to happen, China wanting to unite with Tibet to use there land to expand there economy were not happy with the Tibetans and eventually things got out of hand.

China slowly took over places of Tibet, kicking people from there homes and using there resources they worked everyday for for themselves, creating a huge amount of starvation between the Tibetan people.

China eventually decided that they would rule the country, they did not make this official however and what was made official to the public was that Chinese soliders were simple populating Tibet to help with the boosting of the economy, However what China failed to tell you was the mindless torture, rape, murders of innocent Tibetans by Chinese soliders.

This situation blew up to huge scale and China eventually destroyed temples over hundreds of years old, killed thousands of Tibets everyday, took half of Tibet and called it China (It is actually marked on a world map as China now) and what do they do with that land? Use it as waste dumps and nuclear testing facilities, killing and causing the extinction of various Tibetan wildlife.

The Dalai Lama fled Tibet and became an exile in India, The Dalai Lama in China was forbidden, the mention of his name would result in being thrown in jail, beaten or even killed. Monks protested peacefully in the street and were shot down mindlessly for it.

What disheartens me the most is that this still goes on today and the world is none the wiser, why is this? Because any mention of Tibet to China is simple ignored, China rarely allows anyone into Tibet and this is just a judgement but it is probably because if what you have just read was filmed and placed worldwide China would be in serious trouble.

There is so much more I could write about and honestly this was the smallest summary of what has gone on in Tibet in the last 50 years that I could write.

This prompted me to write this only because I read more and more that monks are setting themselves on fire in protest of China’s torture and now China have decided that it is NOT the legal right for the Dalai Lama to choose whether or not to reincarnate.

If you have taken the time to read this I honestly do appreciate it, it is something I feel so strongly about and feel that not many people are aware of what is happening.
